The process of getting into debt is often easy, but the process of getting out is often a challenge. Who among us doesn’t know a friend or family member who’s deep in debt, facing collection calls, and struggling to make ends meet? You are not alone. In an effort to better serve our clients, VWLuke created and offers a Debt Adjustment Program designed to assist individuals who want to resolve their unsecured debts, but who also want to avoid bankruptcy or who don’t otherwise qualify for bankruptcy. As a firm, we believe in the responsible repayment of financial obligations, but we also know that creditors employ aggressive tactics that make it difficult for struggling consumers to have the motivation, much less the ability, to repay. VWLuke can help level the playing field by acting as your negotiator. This is not debt consolidation or credit counseling, and we DO NOT collect money from our clients to pay their creditors. Instead, we offer our time and services for a flat fee to negotiate with your creditors and to provide you with advice and assistance on, among other things, what constitutes fair debt collection. Depending upon your circumstances, we can also provide you with a defense against lawsuits. Examples of Possibilities: Debt Free in 18-48 months? For some individuals, yes… Our firm uses various legal strategies nationally to get what we consider to be the best debt relief available for our clients. However, as usual, the proposal shown above may not be right for everyone, not everyone will qualify for a debt adjustment program (based upon income, expenses, employment, assets, real estate equity, and other criteria), and these are only examples or estimates of POSSIBLE OUTCOMES. The amounts shown above may not include all possible attorney's fees or costs as these items can change depending upon the facts and circumstances of a case. Lastly, of course, every case is unique and requires individual analysis; the fact that another client obtained a particular amount or level of debt relief DOES NOT mean that you can or will obtain the same result. How does it work? Although the exact law of your state may make your individual situation different, creditors are generally willing to negotiate your debt to a lower amount if you follow the right steps (though they are reluctant to admit this). This is not, however, a laid back process. Resolving your unsecured debt through negotiation/adjustment is a long term commitment, and it requires you, as a strategy, to stop paying certain bills and to save money each month so as to accumulate a fund to be used in the debt negotiation. Obviously, when you stop paying your bills, creditors become a little concerned; while it isn’t always a combative process, there is no question that it can be a contentious ordeal. Some creditors are quicker than others to take aggressive steps such as filing suit and some may continue to disturb you with collection calls even after VWLuke begins representation. Just as there isn’t a magic pill or potion for immediate weight loss, there is no quick and painless solution for unsecured debt problems: like dieting, success in debt adjustment requires patience, perseverance, a change in habits, and sometimes sacrifices. However, if you stick with the program, the rewards can be quite gratifying: in many cases, successful completion of the program allows clients to emerge free of credit card debt without the stigma of bankruptcy in just 18 – 48 months (please see our disclosures related to debt adjustment). Also, unlike bankruptcy, negotiating your unsecured debt allows you to stay in control of how and when your unsecured debt is resolved along with which unsecured debts are resolved. |
